Özürlüler haftası nedeni ile düzenlenen etkinlikler çerçevesinde gerçekleştirilen bir dizi etkinlik kapsamında Anıtkabir özel defterini de imzalayan Türker deftere; ”Yüce Atatürk,
Çağdaşlığın ve ilerleyiciciliğin savunucusu, 3 Aralık Dünya Engelliler gününde Engellilerimiz ve ben huzurunuzda bulunmaktayız. Cumhuriyetimizin bölünmez bütünlüğü, birlik ve dayanışmamızı her koşulda koruyarak Türk Ulusun varlığını yücelterek gerçekçi, akılcı, saygınlığımıza, büyüklüğümüze yaraşır yaklaşımlarla çağdaşlık yolunda gösterdiğiniz hedefleri mutlaka gerçekleştireceğiz. Yüksek anınız önünde saygıyla eğiliyor ve şükranlarımızı sunuyoruz.” diye yazdı. Grup daha sonra, Anıtkabir’den ayrılarak Çankaya Belediyesi Çağdaş Sanatlar Merkezi’ndeki törene katıldı. Törende, Çankaya Belediyesi Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Eryılmaz,ve Ünlü şair, söz yazarı Ahmet Selçuk İlkan’ da hazır bulundu. Engelliler Folklor Ekibi çeşitli yörelerimize ait sergiledikleri halkoyunlarıyla, izleyenleri büyüledi ve büyük bir coşku ile ayakta alkışlandılar. Törene, engelliler için gönüllü katılan Ünlü şair, söz yazarı Ahmet Selçuk İlkan, muhteşem bir atmosferde, şiirlerini okudu İlkan ;” Ben ayrılıkların şarkıcısıyım ama, şu an gördüğüm tablo siz mutlulukların şiirisiniz. Bütün yaşamışlarımla ve bütün içtenliğimle söylüyorum ki, Uluslararası Engelliler Vakfı Başkanı İsmet Türker’in ve Çankaya Belediyesi Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Eryılmaz’ın konuşmaları beni umutlandırdı..Çünkü güzel başkentimizde ,Çankaya belediyesi olarak tüm ülkenin yaptıklarından çok daha fazlası yapmak sizin gibi güzel bir ilçeye yakışırdı .En büyük engel bedendeki değil beyinlerdeki engeldir .Yılardır bu engeli aşamadık. Burada gördük ki bir insana fırsat verilirse aşılamayacak hiçbir engel yoktur. Gerçekten alkışa değer.”dedi.
Tören.,engellilerin sergiledikleri skeçlerden sonra katılımcıların hep birlikte 10. Yıl Marşı’nı söylemeleriyle sona erdi.
